THE BRAY COLLECTIVE – STANDARD TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR TRADE SERVICES;

1. INSTALLATION WORK
a) All electrical installation work shall comply with BS7671 and any amendment in force at the time of the works.  Gas installations will comply with Gas Safe codes of practice and be carried out by a qualified and registered gas engineer.

b) All electrical and gas installation work will comply with applicable building regulations in force at the time of the works

c) Where work is to extend or modify existing circuits or plumbing, any costs quoted assume that the existing installation is in adequate condition and complies with minimum current regulations. Any additional works required to bring the installation up to standard will be at additional cost

d) Unless otherwise stated, all cables and pipework will be concealed by chasing into the building fabric or concealed in building voids, under floor etc. Where impractical, they will be neatly surface run, either in trunking or clipped direct

e) Where carpet or floor covering may require lifting and relaying to allow concealed installation work, no charge is made for this service, with best endeavours being made to avoid damaging them and to refit them to an acceptable standard. However, consideration of employing a specialist fitter may be prudent, at your cost, to effect a fully satisfactory reinstatement.

f) Where agreed beforehand, chases to walls etc will be re-filled to 1mm above plaster finish height using ‘Easy-fill’ and it is left to the client to sand down flat on completion. Decoration is excluded unless specifically detailed in our quotation.

g) All endeavours will be made to undertake installation work to a clean standard, however we wish to make the customer aware that they will need to vacuum and wipe surface with a damp cloth to remove dust on completion

h) The duration of these works should be discussed during booking

i) Whilst undertaking works at the property, the client is required to provide water, toilet facilities and power free of charge

2. EXCLUSIONS
a) Clearing and/or moving of furniture and other items blocking access to areas of work are not included – Please have the rooms empty and clear of clutter ready for our arrival

b) Except where specifically detailed, builders work (creating holes of larger that 25mm diameter, creating of support structures etc) are not included, except as outlined in 1. d,e and f above

c) Redecoration and final making good is excluded from quoted costs unless specifically detailed as included

d) Removal from site and disposal of rubble, fittings, wiring, materials, general waste and packaging is not included unless it is specifically detailed that we have included for a skip.  We are not permitted to carry waste in our vehicles.

3. EXTRAS AND VARIATIONS
a) All extras and variations must be agreed in writing prior to commencement with any additional costs associated fully understood and agreed to.

4. PRICING
a) The costs quoted assume continuous and unhindered access to the site by prior arrangement with you.

b) Unless specifically detailed otherwise in the quotation, the costs assume standard working hours of between 08.00am-18.00pm Monday to Friday although our working day may be shorter. Work required outside of these hours attracts out of hours premium rates.

c) Any additional works not covered in our quoted costs attract additional time charge of £50.00 per hour plus material costs and VAT

d) All rates quoted are subject to VAT at the prevailing rate

e) All figures quoted are valid for 30 days from the date of the quotation

5. DEVIATIONS FROM BUILDING REGULATIONS, BS7671 & GAS SAFE
a) All work, where applicable, will be executed fully in compliance with the applicable building regulations, BS7671 and Gas Safe codes of practice in force at the time of work, particularly in respect of work in dwellings to allow the legal part P obligations to be met. Where a client requires deviation from such regulations, a written instruction and record will be required.

6. RISK AND TITLE OF GOODS AND PROPERTY
a) The risk in all goods supplied shall pass to the client upon delivery

b) All goods supplied shall remain the property of The Bray Collective Ltd t/a Matthew Bray Electrical until all sums due have been paid in full and we retain the right to enter the property and remove any goods without making good should your account fall overdue.

c) The client is responsible for ensuring the property is insured for the duration of the works

7. WARRANTY
a) The Bray Collective Ltd warrants it’s installation work to be defect free for a period of 12 months from invoice date. Any such cover does not extend to goods not supplied by us, physical damage (whether deliberate or accidental) to products, or any instance where the original installation has been altered or tampered with subsequently by third parties.

b) We retain the right to submit a labour charge on warranty visits after the 12 months warranty period, however the manufacturer of the part that has failed may offer to provide a replacement part free of charge.

8. PAYMENT
a) A deposit of up to 50% may be required when scheduling your work, with the remainder due on completion of the specified works. We accept payment by cash or credit/debit card only.

b) Stage payments may be requested where planned works take longer than 7 days.

c) Deposits taken are non-refundable. If the client cancels or postpones works within 48 hours of the planned start date and time, a further deposit may be required on re-booking. Deposits taken for special order items are non-refundable

9. DISPUTE RESOLUTION
a) In the event of a dispute, mediation is to be the preferred method of resolution
